Laila Munro
Laila started her personal practice of Pilates in 1999; having been a dancer for much of her early life she was immediately inspired by the connection required between mind and body to achieve the precision of movement necessary for Pilates. Laila received her training certification through the Physical Mind Institute. She believes that this was one of the wisest choices of her life and feels that the learning process of Pilates is never-ending. Laila brings passion for Pilates to her classes along with gentle humour and truly enjoys helping her students find strength in themselves, both physically and mentally.
Rachel Wainwright
Rachel has been practising yoga and Pilates for years and then decided to do her training to instruct Pilates. Rachel did her Pilates instructor training training through the Pilates den and has teaching ever since. She hopes to inspire people to better themselves and to enhance self-confidence. Rachel is also a professional Jazz and Hip-hop dancer and has performed in a variety of stage shows, TV and film work. She combines her diverse background experience and knowledge to create a well-rounded and effective class.
Alexina Mehta
Alexina Mehta is a certified Pilates, Yoga and Spinning teacher at Steve Nash Sports centre. She loves sharing her knowledge of optimal health and well-being with others and her classes are bound to challenge your body mind and spirit, while having a good laugh at the same time! She has taught in several facilities and is also currently in her 4th year of Naturopathic Medical program to become a Naturopathic Physician. She is also certifed in Bowan therapy, is a Doula and also studies Energetic Medicine through the Four Winds institute.

Karen's journey with yoga began 8 years ago. After playing varsity basketball at Malaspina College and the University of Victoria, Karen began to feel the effects of years of misuse of her body. She came to yoga as an alternative to physiotherapy for back problems. Karen was amazed at the results physically, but soon realized the immense power behind the movement. Yoga had a serendipitous effect on Karen; what once was considered a cross training exercise soon became a life path. She holds a degree in Elementary Education from the University of Victoria and a Diploma of Physical Education from Malaspina College. She completed her Yoga teacher training in 2006 and has since been certified in prenatal and kids' yoga teacher training. Karen believes that yoga is for everyone and teaches an all levels style to ensure everyone leaves feeling the blissful benefits of the practice.
Insiya Rasiwala (www.vancouveryoga.com)
Insiya first experienced yoga as a young child in Bombay, India, where she grew up. Today, after many years of studying Ayurveda, alignment focused yoga styles, dance and other movement forms, Insiya is a certified Ashtanga Vinyasa/Flow teacher and the founder of Yoga Bees, a program that brings yoga and yogic values to children in Vancouver area schools. Insiya also teaches and writes on health, wellness and green living.
Erica Gerhke
Erica offers yoga classes that highlight the importance of precise physical alignment and an energetic experience of yoga by emphasizing breath awareness. Beginners to Erica's class learn to breathe deeply and connect with the body to become more proficient at safely tailoring yoga asanas to work best for each individual. Together with simple pranayama and meditation, she creates a practice that is simultaneously challenging and calming leaving students energized and centered and benefiting from the practice long after they've left the room. Her teaching of yoga asanas is steeped with an intensive background of yogic studies of the healing arts, meditation and psychology.

Kate Potter has passionately devoted herself to Yoga for most of her life, starting at the very young age of ten years old. Today that unwavering commitment and focus have earned her an extensive and growing reputation as an innovative and inspirational Hatha Yoga teacher; indeed, many in the Vancouver Yoga community regard her as a teacher's teacher. Kate's unique sequences have inspired students across the world in the hit television series "Namaste".

Padma is one of Canada's best-known teachers of meditation and yoga, and hosts a nationally syndicated TV series on meditation and yoga called 'Living Yoga with Padma'. She developed, wrote and hosts the 65 episodes of the series. Padma is the author and producer of a series of educational DVDs.
For eight years, Padma studied advanced meditation in the western Himalayas of India. She learned to read and master original Sanskrit texts of meditation philosophy and is authorized to teach by the director of the International Meditation Institute of India. To all of her teachings, Padma brings a rich wisdom of physical, intellectual and spiritual knowledge. She aims to awaken freedom and inspire health in all aspects of our lives.

Jesse Enright has been a student of Yoga for eleven years and an instructor for the past nine. He began his studies with Sivananda Yoga before exploring the more dynamic Ashtanga Vinyasa, the detailed alignment of Iyengar and the comprehensive intelligence of Vijnana Yoga. His classes blend the challenge and flow of vinyasa with deep alignment and a lighthearted approach.

Robyn Land's passion for yoga first began in 1999, when she first stepped on a yoga mat. She has been hooked ever since! She completed her teacher training under the guidance of Trinity Yoga and is always learning more as she goes along the path that yoga has offered her She loves to share with others the benefits, joy and beauty that yoga has instilled in her life.

Mara's personal yoga practice began in India over a decade ago. Since then, Yoga has been the most poignant, transformative, and informative force in her life. Mara received her yoga certification through Trinity Yoga and continues to be inspired by her long-term teacher and friend, Mary-Jo Fetterly. Her teaching practice draws from several traditions: Ashtanga Vinyasa Flow, Hatha, Iyengar, and Anusara Yoga. Mara's sense of artistry contributes to the design of her class through dynamic flow, grace, strength, and vitality.

Natasha was raised in a yogic family practicing alternative healthy living. Since the beginning, she has felt that health and happiness are intrinsically connected and should be attained with ease. The tools (Traditional Chinese Medicine and yoga) are simple when practiced with consistency and openness to growth and change. She now works at a clinic in Vancouver as a Traditional Chinese Medicine practitioner (Rac) and teaches a dynamic style of yoga in Vancouver and throughout the mainland. It is her intention that every person may have the opportunity to taste and experience transformation on many levels.
Alanna Sakai
Alanna graduated from UBC with a Bachelor's of Science in Food, Nutrition and Health. She has a strong passion for yoga since starting her personal practice in 2000 and continues her studies with Kavita Maharaj. Alanna enjoys taking as many courses and workshops as she can and has traveled throughout North America to train. She loves sharing yoga with others and is also pursing her interest in Ayurveda and pilates. Alanna loves being active and enjoys surfing, soccer and dancing.
